Your export buyers expect operational systems
you have not yet built.
ERPNext implementation for KSEZ textile, garment, and agro-processing exporters. AGOA-ready. EBM 2.1 pathway. Configured, not coded.
We stay until the system holds up to a US or EU buyer audit.
Three external pressures that make this the right time.
International buyers and regulators are tightening what they expect to see from KSEZ manufacturers. The window to build the systems before they are required, not after, is closing.
01 / AGOA
US buyers are tightening supplier documentation requirements
AGOA eligibility is not just about origin certificates. US buyers doing due diligence on Rwandan suppliers increasingly want inventory traceability, production records, and order fulfilment data that spreadsheets cannot produce reliably.
02 / EBM 2.1
RRA's electronic billing system upgrade requires clean data flows
EBM 2.1 integration means your invoicing system must connect to RRA's billing infrastructure. ERPNext's native invoicing module, correctly configured, produces the data format EBM 2.1 expects. Manual invoice books do not.
EBM 2.1 / ERPNext v16 bridge compatibility requires verification with your RRA field officer before go-live. We confirm this in the discovery phase.
03 / EU DPP
EU buyers will require product passport data by 2026 to 2027
The EU Digital Product Passport requires traceability from raw material to finished garment. ERPNext's batch tracking and Bill of Materials structure is the foundation this data sits on. Building it after buyers ask is too late.
What we build for KSEZ operators
One configured system across the operations a KSEZ exporter actually runs.
Six modules. One database. The same configuration approach we use everywhere else, adjusted to the specifics of exporting from Rwanda to international buyers.
01 / Production
Production Order Management
Bill of Materials for garment styles. Production Orders per buyer PO. Work Orders tracked through cutting, sewing, finishing, and QC stages.
02 / Purchasing
Multi-Currency Purchasing
Fabric and input sourcing in USD, EUR, or CNY. Purchase receipts linked to customs entry numbers. Landed cost allocation across consignments.
03 / Export
Export Documentation
Delivery Notes and Packing Lists formatted to buyer requirements. Commercial Invoice in USD. Certificate of Origin data pulled from production records.
04 / Payroll
RSSB Payroll
RSSB pension (5% employee + 5% employer) and CBHI medical insurance (7.5% each side) configured as salary components. Monthly payroll posts RSSB liability automatically.
05 / Invoicing
EBM-Ready Invoicing
Sales Invoice module configured to the RRA-required format. Tax template linked to correct accounts. EBM integration pathway documented for your RRA field officer to verify.
06 / Reporting
RDB Export Compliance Reports
General Ledger, Payroll, and Fixed Asset reports configured to produce the financial data RDB requires for export incentive verification. Report formats confirmed during discovery.

What we built
Lagowood Furnishings
Production Order workflow across cutting, assembly, and finishing. BoMs for 40+ furniture SKUs. Inventory tracked between workshop and warehouse. Purchasing pipeline ties raw material receipts to production orders so margin per order is visible at any point.

Savanna Trade Co.
Multi-warehouse stock with bin-level tracking. Multi-currency purchasing in USD, EUR, and KES with landed-cost allocation. Sales orders tied to delivery notes and commercial invoices that match buyer documentation. Same architecture transfers cleanly to KSEZ export operations.

What we learned
Gulf Medica LLC
Process discovery was complete but executive sponsorship lapsed between blueprint sign-off and UAT. Project was withdrawn before go-live. The reason it sits on this list: KSEZ engagements only succeed when factory leadership stays in the room. We screen for that on the discovery call.

We work in Rwanda. We understand it.
Kuwa Advisory is based in Kigali. The practice understands KSEZ operating conditions, RDB incentive structures, RRA filing requirements, and the specific constraints of exporting from Rwanda to international buyers. This is not a generic ERP vendor. It is a practice that operates in the same market you do.
Questions from KSEZ operators
What we hear most on the first call.
A third-party bridge called Injonge EBM (by Inhills Technology) exists for ERPNext-to-RRA integration. v16 compatibility requires verification before your go-live date. We confirm integration status with your RRA field officer during the discovery phase and document it in the project scope. We do not promise connectivity we cannot verify.
RSSB contributions are configured as Salary Components in ERPNext: pension at 5% employee and 5% employer of gross salary, CBHI medical at 7.5% each side. Monthly payroll runs calculate and post the RSSB liability to the correct payable accounts. RSSB portal submission and payment remain a separate step. ERPNext produces the payroll data, you submit it.
RDB incentive compliance for KSEZ exporters typically requires clean financial reporting showing export revenue, employment numbers, and capital investment. ERPNext's General Ledger, Payroll, and Fixed Asset modules produce the source data for all three. We configure the relevant reports to match RDB's format. The specific RDB reporting requirements vary by incentive type. We confirm your incentive conditions with RDB before configuring the reports.
Frappe certification is on our roadmap. What differentiates us in the Rwanda market is sector depth: documented experience in KSEZ textile and garment export, agro-processing, and multi-currency East Africa operations. Our methodology is at kuwaadvisory.com/methodology.
Engagements are scoped by module depth and team size, not by a flat rate. We quote after a process review, not before. Book the assessment call and we will have a number for you within 48 hours.
If you want a KSEZ implementation to begin in the next quarter, the conversation should start now. Book a 30-minute call. We will tell you within the first 15 minutes whether your factory is ready for implementation or whether process work needs to come first.
